Hydrogen controlled iron powder type electrode yielding a ductile and creep resistant weld deposit containing about 0.5% Mo which helps to improve elevated temperature performance over that of C-Mn steels.
APPLICATIONS :
Pressure pipelines operating at high temperatures, boiler tubes, boiler plates of silimar composition & requiring good creep resistance for service temperature upto 500oC.
CHARACTERISTICS :
It represents a unique combination of numerous features which every welder and welding engineer look for on shop floor and at erection site. In particular, the 2.5 mm diameter electrode displays highly satisfactory behavior in welding of pipes.
- Ease of operation
- Smooth and stable arc which is easy to strike & restrike, combined with low spatter and with due control on molten pool.
- Slag detachability with little effort
- Finely rippled bead with regular profile
- Welds of consistent X-ray quality
- Weld metal which possesses excellent mechanical properties and displays resistance to cracking caused by heavy stresses and / or hydrogen
- A higher level of metal recover at 100- 110%
- Resistance to moisture pick-up

NOTES ON USAGES :
- Use short arc to the extent possible.
- Use of DC(+) is recommended for achieving high standard of weld quality.
- Redry electrode for one hour at 300oC – 350oC before use. (for storage conditions & redrying schedule, please refer to our booklet on L.H. electrodes).
- Preheat & Interpass temperature : 100oC-150oC for plate thickness upto 10mm & 200oC for higher thickness. These temperature should be maintained during the entire welding operation.
- Postweld heat treatment: Stress Reliving, when required, at 600oC – 650oC with minimum soaking period of 30 minutes.
- Special batches can be manufactured to meet impact test requirements at subzero temperatures down to -30oC.
